Think of the Troops in the New Year

In the past years the Reading Girl Scouts have worked with Camp Curtis Guild National Guard in Reading to help donate Girl Scout Cookies to soldiers overseas.

It’s very easy to do and the customers really like donating cookies.

The troops also LOVE it when notes such as "thank you", "We Love you", etc. are included with the boxes. Also in the past, chocolate cookies are discouraged because of the high temperatures in Iraq. Others are okay.

Each GS troop can contact Jill Price directly at Camp Curtis Guild for delivery times. She can be reached at 508-233-7444. She has told me there are currently 180 soldiers in Iraq that are out of Camp Curtis. If the delivery times are not convenient for you, I would be happy to deliver the cookies to Camp Curtis for you. I can be reached at 781-942-2383. If you have any questions, please call me.

Also, this year there is a second option of delivering donated cookies to Hanscom Air force Base. The information available is as follows: Hanscom Armed Forces Cookie Donation: this event is planned for March 8th, but more details will come. All interested troops should RSVP to Alison at cookieboothsale@ptgirlscouts.org. She is asking troops for an estimated number of girls, adults, and cars attending.

Thanks, Donna O'Connell Troop 3705
