Subject: [GS] Collecting cookies for our military troops The following announcement was provided to me by Donna O'Connell: In the past we have worked with Camp Curtis in Reading to donate Girl Scout Cookies to be sent to troops overseas. Jill Price from Camp Curtis would be very happy to again to receive any donated cookies. Currently, she has 250 soldiers out of the Melrose Armory and 112 from Camp Curtis. At Camp Curtis they regularly have family weekends in which the families of troops who are deployed get together to ship packages to their loved ones. When we give Jill the cookies she has the boxes available to the families to include in their own care packages. Also, the troops REALLY do love messages such as "THANK YOU" "BE SAFE" "WE ARE PROUD OF YOU", etc. It's very easy to have the cookies donated. Typically what we have done in the past is to include a sign at our booth sales noting the option of donating cookies overseas. Also, as the girls sells to neighbors, familiy and friends, some also like to donate cookies to troops overseas. I would be happy to coordinate the cookie drop offs at Camp Curtis. Jill isn't in her Reading office every day. Thanks! Donna O'Connell 781-942-2383 donnadoc2001@hotmail.com --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ralph L.
